The greatest achievement for an African player is the Award from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This organization runs continental, national and regional football clubs in Africa. It’s the biggest organization when compared to the other six FIFA confederations. It represents African football all around the world. In addition, it connects Africa with other football confederations, like OFC, AFC, UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF.
This organization is also responsible for choosing the best player of the year. This means people from all over Africa continent and even the world follow its news. For Nominees of the African Player of the Year, it’s not just a recognition of their skills but also a chance to demand better salaries from clubs. CAF African Footballer of the Year
The first prediction about the Nominees and the winner of CAF African Footballer of the year was made by Kanu Nwankwo. The Former Arsenal Forward told Vanguard that he believed that Victor Moses would win the CAF African Footballer 2017. How did the ex-player of Arsenal conclude that Victor Moses would win this award? According to Kanu Nwankwo, the Chelsea Player deserves it because of his performances this season.

Victor Moses is a professional footballer from Nigeria. He currently plays as a winger for Chelsea. He plays for one of the best Premier League Clubs in Europe but he still takes his responsibilities as a player for the Nigeria national Team seriously.
Moses’s career started at Crystal Palace. It was his starting point after which he was transferred to Wigan Athletic. His European career really began in 2010 when he was recognized by the Premier League. After two years at the League, he was noticed by Chelsea.
Moses started playing for Chelsea in 2012. However, he was not in his greatest physical shape for the first few years of playing with Chelsea. He spent his second season in 2012 in Liverpool, the third season at Stoke City and the fourth at West Ham United.
Victor Moses was born in Lagos, Nigeria. His parents were killed when he was only 11. His relatives sent him to England to get an education. He chose to become a football player instead. Now he earns millions of dollars every season. He has been able to overcome his past and become one of the greatest football players in Africa.
He has played for England in the past, but now he shows off his skills while playing for the Nigeria national team.
It’s obvious that the CAF African player of the Year award should be given to the best player. Why did Kanu decide that Moses will become the perfect candidate? The current leader of African Football and the previous winner of the CAF African Player of the Year award is Riyad Mahrez. Why shouldn’t he be nominated for the second time for this award?
Nwankwo Kanu believes that CAF Award 2017 should be given to Victor Moses. He pointed out four major achievement of this player!
- Moses was able to prove critics wrong. Despite their negative predictions, Moses was fantastic this season. He also had better chances to prove himself compared to other players in Chelsea.
