Tension as 14-year-old Fulani herdsman, one other killed in Southern Kaduna

– Two Fulani herdsmen have been killed in Southern Kaduna

– The herdsmen were 14 and 20 years of age

There has been some tension in Southern Kaduna, after two Fulani herdsmen were killed on Saturday, March 11 afternoon.

The deaths led to the threat of renewed violence in the area. The herdsmen were reportedly shot while herding cattle in Anguwan Yashi village in Jema’a local government area.

According to Premium Times, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the national assistant secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, said the herdsmen killed were Anas Shuaibu, 20, and Yahaya Musa, 14.

Mr Abdullahi however called on the Fulani community in the area “not to take the laws into their hands and allow the security agencies do their job but to please give peace a chance.”

class="align-left">Aliyu Othman, the spokesperson of the police in the state who confirmed the incident, said the police was investigating the murders and nine persons have already been arrested in connection with the killing.

Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lamented the continuous killings in Southern Kaduna despite the heavy of presence of security in the place.

Chairman of Northern CAN, Rev. Pam stated that the isolated killings in that part of the state has claimed more lives than the real communal and religious crises ongoing, The Sun reports.
