You must investigate $175,000 missing in Ekiti government house, APC tells EFCC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state has invited the EFCC to probe the missing money from Ekiti government house

– But Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, says EFCC should also investigate the missing billions in the days of the former governor, Fayemi Kayode

The Ekiti state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has invited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate reports that $50,000 totaling N20million was missing in the Ekiti state government house.

The missing money was said to have involved Governor Ayodele Fayose’s aides and a woman who was said to have disappeared with $125,000, approximately N75million without trace.

According to the Nigerian Bulletin, the publicity secretary of APC in Ekiti state, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the EFCC must live to its billings by investigating sources of funds among Nigerians whose lifestyle does correlate with their monthly income.

However, the vociferous Governor Fayose, though did not disagree with investigating the missing money, called on the EFCC to also investigate the missing billions in the days of the former governor who is now a minister in Buhari’s government, Kayode Fayemi.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose was quoted to have said that: “There is nothing bad in the APC asking the EFCC to probe the stolen money since the anti- graft agency can now investigate even missing under wears in individual homes.

“But the APC should also go further to ask the EFCC to investigate the N850 million SUBEB fund stolen during former Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration, the millions of naira spent on flowers that were never seen anywhere in Ado Ekiti and the billions of naira looted from the state treasury when the party was in power”.
