New US President Donald Trump has held his first press briefing in the White House with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
The conference followed a meeting between the two leaders, Trump’s first with a world leader since being sworn in as new American president on Friday, January 20, 2017.

The unusually brief conference was not without its unique moments and the ZENITHBLOG.com team has compiled some of those takeaways from the event and they are as follows:
1. Trump is open to lifting sanctions on Russia even though British PM May says she believes the sanctions should stay on until Russia shifts grounds on reasons why the sanctions were imposed in the first place.
2. Trump says he believes torture works but added that he would leave the decision of whether it would be used to the secretary of defense James Mattis.
3. Trump also admitted that he remains one hundred per cent behind the NATO alliance; the regional agreement which says an attack against any member would lead to retaliation by the US and other European members.
4. Trump’s press conference lasted 18-minutes, which is historic, because it is probably the shortest conference in the White House.

5. Trump also did not talk too much. “He spoke in sentences rather than paragraph as Obama did when he was president,” a CNN reporter at the conference noted.
