It was learnt that there was misunderstanding leading to tension between traditional rulers in Delta North and the senator who represents the zone in the National Assembly.

He appealed to them to continue to support the Senator Okowa led government which he described as quintessential and a government with the interest of the people at heart.

The senator said: “I thank you for your support. It is not an easy thing to dine with kings. I apologize for the alleged insubordination assumptions. I must also commend governor Okowa for his ability to deliver on his mandate in the face of the unfriendly economy.

He is somebody we should be

proud of. The next time we come together we hope would be to discuss his second term plans.”

In his response, the Obi of Owa and Chairman of Delta state traditional rulers council, HRM Emmanuel Efeizomor, promised the continued support of traditional rulers for the state government and called on political leaders to be humble at all times, like Okowa and Nwaoboshi.

He said: “Traditional rulers do not want leaders who disregard them. We must be respected at all times because we are the representatives of the ancestors. And once we sense disrespect we can withdraw our support.
