Nigeria has gone through a lot in recent times due to the economic situation. Recession has become a household name in Nigeria; there are so many factors responsible for this.
Some individuals have contributed to the economic meltdown one way or the other.Millions of Nigerians believe recession did not just happen. Some greedy people carted the money meant for the development of this country away.

The present administration did a lot in exposing people who were linked to missing funds. Some of them had huge investments in foreign countries and only left behind the money bags they could not carry.
As innocent Nigerians are dying and crying of hunger, some people stole their way into our funds and use the money to live large and oppressing lives. There were excuses when they were accused of money laundering and all. Many of them who served in different sectors used the opportunity to create budgets that allowed them steal as much as possible from the country.

Some of the people on the list below stole money on order, for spiritual purposes, for consultation, some claimed the money they got were millions and not billions, while some claimed to have had access to this money in order to change it to foreign currency. How wonderful!

17. Jolly Nyame-2.4 billion Naira
18. Joshua Dariye-700 million Naira
19. Nyesom Wike stole 4 billion Naira
20. Diezzani with the missing $20 billion oil money

24. The 12.7 billion Naira for the deceased NEPA staff

26. 23 billion Naira as bribe to INEC staffs to rig the general election
This list is endless! It is shocking to know that some individuals are capable of keeping large amounts of money for themselves alone. Do not forget that 950 million was said to be shared in Shekarau’s house. The recklessness of the former ruling party has contributed a great deal to the current economic situation.
If the nation has to be swept clean of corruption, then many high profiled citizens in the country have to be checked.
