Victims of herdsmen attacks under the aegis of Movement Against Fulani Occupation have staged a peaceful protest at the Benue state House of Assembly.

The group said the protest is aimed at coercing lawmakers to pass the open grazing prohibition bill that will streamline the activities of herdsmen in the state, Daily Sun reports.
With their mats, cooking pots and other items they gathered, chanting songs and making their demands.
The bill was presented 10 months ago and the lawmakers are yet to work on it.

Meanwhile, two suspected herdsmen have been killed at Umuoba-Anam in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The alleged herdsmen were killed by yet to be identified persons, even as the state police command said six persons arrested over the incident were helping in the investigations.
Vanguard reports that the Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Okaula, said yesterday that the command had already deployed a large number of policemen to the area to maintain peace and to prevent reprisal attack.
