Ogun traditional ruler, 98, peacefully dies at palace

Joel Bamgbose, the traditional ruler of the Onibese of Ibesaland in Ogun state, reportedly passed away.

According to a source close to the monarch, the 13th ruler of the town died at the age of 98 on Thursday, January 14, at the palace in Ibese town, Yewa North Local Government Area.

Yewande Onanuga, the Ogun state deputy governor, led a governmental delegation to express condolences to the monarch’s family.

‎Ms Onanuga described the life of the monarch as an exemplary and fulfilled.

She also stressed his achievements in ensuring peaceufl co-existence of the people of Ibese.

Besides, the deputy governor advised the residents to unite and forget all offenses as

they are prepare for the late monarch’s burial.

The government will keep the locals update about the date and place of the burial.

The traditional council,‎ Asiwaju of Ibeseland, presented by Hezekiah Idowu, thanked the government for its support at their trying moment.
