The AYCF said it was in support of the move by the the Lagos state government to contest the verdict of the Appeal Court that set Al-Mustapha, a former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, free.

Mustapha had earlier been convicted for his alleged involvement in the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola in Lagos.

The trial that lasted for about 15 years saw Al-Mustapha convicted for murder before he was set free and acquitted by an Appeal Court.

The Lagos state government approached the Supreme Court to revisit the Appeal Court verdict which the apex court granted on Thursday, January 13.
