Gausu said: “People talk about us because we are elected; but the thieves are in the ministries.”

“Directors insert billions of Naira because they are the ones that give contracts and they are the ones that the contractors see.

“The contractor said that the consultancy fee for that contract was N1.2 billion.

“Who is responsible for this? The lawmakers or civil servants?

The present economic hardship, he said, would be a blessing for the country as President Muhammadu Buhari’s team was ready to tackle the situation.

Gausu said: “Those accusing APC for the current hardship are looters, their collaborators or those benefiting from the loots.’’

Meanwhile, victims of herdsmen attacks under the aegis of Movement Against Fulani Occupation (MAFO) have staged a peaceful protest at the Benue state House of Assembly.

The group said the protest is aimed at coercing lawmakers to pass the open grazing prohibition bill that will streamline the activities of herdsmen in the state, Daily Sun reports.

With their mats, cooking pots and other items they gathered, chanting songs and making their demands.
