Following the defeat of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists by the Nigerian Troops on Friday, December 23, 2016, a Muslim women organisation has commended the Nigerian Army for crushing the sect, just as the group frowned at the recent crisis in Kaduna.

The Army had stormed Camp Zero; the Boko Haram’s stronghold at Sambisa forest in Maiduguri, Borno state and defeated the terrorists and freed their captives.

The Muslim women under the aegis of Al Mu’minaat, also urged the federal government to find a lasting solution to the crisis rocking Southern Kaduna in Kaduna state, where many lives have been lost.
Daily Trust reports that in a press statement signed by the Amirah (President) of the organisation, Hajiya Mulikat Abiola Hassan, the group also lauded the Osun state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, for ensuring peaceful and harmonious relationship among people of different religious backgrounds in the state.
Hajiya Hassan, however, commiserated with the victims of Kaduna killings and the recent bombings at the University of Maiduguri.
It should be recalled that President Muhammaudu Buhari had last year claimed that the terrorists had been “technically” defeated.
The announcement came after Nigeria launched a barrage of land and air assaults in Borno state at the heart of the insurgency that has spread to three neighbouring countries — Chad, Cameroon and Niger.
He said: “I am delighted at, and most proud of the gallant troops of the Nigerian Army, on receipt of the long-awaited and most gratifying news of the final crushing of Boko Haram terrorists in their last enclave in Sambisa Forest.

“I want to use this opportunity to commend the determination, courage and resilience of troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at finally entering and crushing the remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents at “Camp Zero”, which is located deep within the heart of Sambisa Forest.
