The Nigerian Customs Service (NSC) has exposed new methods to smuggle goods into the country.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the NSC said it discovered a vehicle which was hidden inside a truck of firewood.
According to the statement, this discovery was made by the NCS Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Command.

Another vehicle was discovered in a truck of cow dung.
This smuggling is coming after the customs service placed a ban on importation if vehicles through the land border.
ASC II Musa, AY who is the public relations officer of the Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Command warned smugglers to desist as they were steps ahead.

The vigilant officers and men of the NCS Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Command has arrested a suspected smuggled vehicle concealed in a truck loaded with firewood.
Addressing reporters at the Command headquarters, the CAC Compt. Sani Madugu told newsmen that the truck was arrested along Tangaza – Ruwawuri road coming into Nigeria.
He said examination conducted by his officers revealed that the truck was found to contain 1 used Honda Accord 2006 Model with chassis no. (IHGCM564867090155).

Similarly, another Mitsubishi Canter with Reg: No. XA 683 TSF carrying cow dung (Manure) was arrested by the Command’s Roving Team B, along Kamba Road in Kebbi State. Examination further revealed that the Canter was loaded with 37 bales of second cloths.
The CAC used the medium to warn smugglers that Customs is always a step ahead of them and call on them to imbibe legitimate trading.
