Christians in Nigeria have been asked to make less noise and put their thoughts and complaints into action instead.
This was the counsel of Mike Okonkwo, the presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) recently, while addressing journalists in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos state, ahead of an awards ceremony organised by his church for community development.
According to the revered man of God, government is not always the problem with the people, Christians who make some of these complaints about their communities not being conducive, also have roles to play in ensuring that sanity returns to places where they were absent.
He noted that “churches to do more than preaching and evangelism and start a contributing practically to the development of their immediate environment and community at large,” which he believes will go a long way in fostering of peace and oneness in the society at large.
