Femi Adesina is a Nigerian journalist and government official, the special adviser on media and publicity to Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria. He was on television discussing the government and state of things in Nigeria.

1. Things are going to change for the better
When he spoke on the state of the economy, the recession and suffering by Nigerians, Mr Adesina insisted that things were going to change for the better. “Just watch out, things will change for the better,” he said.
2. Before the end of this year the change will be evident
When asked for a time frame for the change he was promising, Femi Adesina said: “Before the end of 2017, the change will be evident.”
3. World Bank and IMF has said Nigeria will exit recession this year
The president’s spokesman also says that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the country will be out of recession in 2017.

4. Recession was inevitable
Although Mr Adesina said the present government is not just bemoaning the fate of the country, he said it was important to point out that the way Nigeria had been run before APC came onto the scene, recession was inevitable.
5. PMB is building a new economy
When told that oil prices will always determine the fate of the economy, Adesina that will not be dependent on oil prices
6. Dialogue is the way forward for the Niger Delta crisis
“Although there are many options available to the government, dialogue is the major one we are using to solve the Niger Delta crisis,” Adesina said.
7. The AGF has submitted his reports
Speaking on the fight against corruption, Adesina described it as alive and well. He also revealed that the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) has submitted his findings and the president will take the next step.
8. The President is a man of few words
“The president is a man of few words, very reticent,” Mr Adesina said when asked about the president’s silence on matters like the Southern Kaduna killings. “He is a man of action, not of words,” he reiterated.

9. No president was invited to Donald Trump’s inauguration
When he was asked if Buhari was invited to the inauguration of Donald Trump, he said: “It is ignorance to expect Buhari to be invited, no sitting president was invited to the inauguration, it is not done.”
10. The Nigerian press is not harassed
“The Nigerian press is not and will not be harassed or intimidated under this government, Nigerian press is one of the freest on the continent,” he said while speaking on the Premium Times debacle.
