United Kingdom diplomat, Andrew Fleming has said majority of Nigerians are honest people.

In a series of tweets from his personal Twitter page, Fleming stated that a small minority of Nigerians are propagating an unfavourable image for the country.

Fleming is due to leave Nigeria in 10 days after three years as a diplomat, even as he says Nigeria deserves better than its current situation.

Fleming’s tweets was triggered by a comment by a Twitter user who suggested that Nigerians abroad only enjoy their visits to Nigeria because of the food and music.

Fleming came into the consiousness of Nigerians long time agao when he and his family always adorned locally made Nigerian fabrics even when they were vacationing abroad.

His profile picture on Twitter shows him wearing the popular bowler hat of the Niger Delta and a matching attire.

Meanwhile, Nigerians and other nationals outside the UK are to pay a new fee of N2,220 (£5.48) before they can make any form of British visa enquiry.

The media and public affairs officer of the British High Commission in Abuja, Joe Abuku, said these changes would help the government reduce costs.

The charge includes the first email enquiry sent and any follow-up emails to and from the contact centre.
