As part of the federal government’s campaign to promote made in Nigerian goods, the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, has paid a visit to the factory of Innoson motors in Nnewi, Anambra state.

During the visit on Monday, June 5, the minister said the policies of the federal government will encourage local manufacturing of products including cars.
He said he decided bring along least 25 journalists to be a part of the tour because the government wanted to showcase to the world that there is a company that is already putting Nigeria on the global map of vehicle manufacturing.
According to the minister, the new policies of the Buhari administration will favour companies like Innoson who are manufacturing products in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Naira has continued to appreciate at the parallel market, otherwise known as black market, as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) make steady interventions.
According to ZENITHBLOG.com findings, the Naira has gained ground against the United States Dollar, as it now trades at N372/$1 compared to the previous rate of N375/$1.
The local currency also appreciated to N410 against Euro and N480 against Pound from the previous rates of N420 and N485 respectively.
The recent gain has seen the local currency move closer to converge with the official market rate of N305.55. This comes even as the CBN continue to make steady interventions at the foreign exchange market.
