Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will be 80 years on Sunday, March 5. At that age, he is still fit as a fiddle.
Baba, as he is reverently and fondly called, is one man who has remained influential in the world of Nigerian politics.
Recall that in 2012, when he clocked 75, he said he would celebrate his 80th birthday in a big way if God spares his life till then and he is doing exactly that.
At least 45 serving and past presidents across the globe are expected to attend the celebration and a multi-billion naira Presidential Library and Mosque would be opened for use during the grand ceremony.

You would think at 80, Obasanjo’s life would have slowed down but no, he is still very strong and active and has continued to prove that age is just a number.

The former president decided to break free on 79th birthday last year as he danced to the beats of some drummers. His visitors looked on with surprise and amusement. The smiles on their faces will tell you a did a good job. They never expected it.

As part of activities to celebrate his 80th birthday, Obasanjo, accompanied by his wife, Bola and some of his close allies spent time with some school children. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was spotted reading a fable of the tortoise to public-school pupils at his Ibogun village, near Ifo, Ogun state.

In 2006, he enrolled at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for a Post Graduate Diploma in Christian Theology and graduated three years later in 2009. In 2014, he enrolled again at the university for a Masters Degree in Christian Theology.

He is not someone who is really into fancy gadgets as he still uses an old nokia phone. However, he decided to show the world that he has got a selfie game that compete with that of any other person. That smile on his face though.

He showed his soccer skills when he captained OBJ football team in a soccer duel with the Ogun State Executive Team, led by the governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Obasanjo has made it known severally that he has no idea what his true age is. He said what he was told by his late mother was that she gave birth to him on a market day.
His quest to know his actual date of birth took him to an astrologer in India, and it did not yield any positive result as all he was told was that he would live long. He decided to choose a date after considering the age of his peers.
