This is coming barely two weeks after the South African High Commission, Lulu Mnguni warned Nigerians in South Africa to respect the laws of the land, shun prostitution and stop the distribution of banned substances.
Mnguni has said there were concerns among South Africans that a few foreigners, including Nigerians, were involved in drug peddling and prostitution and that may have been one of the causes for xenophobic attacks on Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has accused South African politicians of telling their people that foreigners, including Nigerians are taking their women, and jobs and this led to the attacks.
Dabiri-Erewa made this statement on a television programme while admitting that foreigners who commit crimes in South Africa can be dealt with without the citizens attacking Nigerian citizens.
