If there is anyone in the world who should be able to give Nigerians firsthand information about the president, it should be the vice president.

Note that President Buhari designated all duties to him when he was going on leave and this gives him the sole right to act like the president in his absence.

2. Bukola Saraki

Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, is also one of the few Nigerians to have spoken with the president since he left for the United Kingdom.

The senate president who read the letter of the president’s formal note of leave to the house has been in contact with the president.

He confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari is quite fine and doing well in the United Kingdom where is currently on vacation.

Saraki said he spoke with President Buhari on phone on the night of Wednesday, February 8 and the he sounded quite like his old self.

He tweeted about this and revealed that the president went on to tease him about his nocturnal habits.

3. Solomon Dalung

President Buhari called the minister to commiserate with him on the demise of his wife who has since been laid to rest.

Solomon Dalung, the minister of youth and sports, received a commiserating call from President Buhari on the death of his wife. Dalung who lost his wife after a brief sickness received a call from the head of state shortly after the incident.

Mrs Dalung passed on Sunday, January 29. The sad incident occurred not quite long after the president left the country on vacation.

He said some words of prayers for the departed soul and pledged his support to the family in their moment of grief.

4. Ibikunle Amosun

Ogun state governor is one of the closest governors to the president if not the most loved. Governor Ibikunle Amosun did not only talk to the president while he was on vacation, he was said to have traveled down to the UK to meet the president.

Pictures of them dining and chatting surfaced amidst the speculations that the president was in a vegetative state and has been confined to a hospital.

5. Hajiya Rakiya

President Buhari’s elder sister, Hajiya Rakiya, says she speaks with her brother every now and then.

Hajiya Rakiya is the only surviving elder sister of President Buhari. The 84-year-old woman revealed that she speaks with the president everyday. She urged Nigerians to keep praying for him to succeed in addressing the problems of the nation.

Rakiya also pleaded with people to pray for his well-being instead of spreading unsettling news about his health.

She emphasized that she has been in touch with him ever since he went to the UK on holiday; the blood relation of the president also added that President Buhari is always in a good spirit.

6. Alhaji Aminu Na-Dari

Aminu Na-Dari has been revealed to be one of the close allies of President Buhari. The former said he has been in constant touch with the president ever since he left the country.

He also stressed that the conversation they had did not indicate that the president is having any health issue.

7. Yakubu Dogara

Yakubu Dogara is the latest (as at the time of filing this report) to speak with President Buhari.

It has been revealed that the president put a call through to Nigeria’s number four citizen. The tweet he dropped about the phone call showed that the president was concerned about the safety of Nigerians.

According to him, the president talked about the things the legislature must do in order to ensure food security for all Nigerians.

Dogara said the president was deeply touched by the suffering of many Nigerians last year and does not want to see any of the ugly incidents of the past year resurface. The president is well after all; alive and kicking.

8. Niyi Adebayo

Niyi Adebayo, son of the late ex-governor of the defunct Western region.

President Buhari called Nigeria while he was on his medical vacation in London to speak to Niyi Adebayo in Ekiti state. The former governor lost his father and the call was made by the president to commiserate with him. This was made known by Femi Adesina on his Facebook page.

Adebayo’s father, Major-General Adeyinka Adebayo, was the former governor of the defunct Western Region. The late Adeyinka Adebayo was described by the president as a patriotic Nigerian who would be sorely missed.

9. Governor Yahaya Bello

The president also reached out to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi while he was in London. The president who was on medical vacation then made the call to appreciate the governor for his unwavering support to the country and her citizens.

As at the time Bello received the call, he was in Lagos for an official assignment.President Muhammadu Buhari promised the governor then that he would return soon to take over from where he stopped.

10. General Yakubu Gowon

11. Aminu Bello Masari

Aminu Bello Masari, the governor of Katsina state.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari also spoke with President Muhammadu Buhari on phone while he was on his medical vacation.

The governor revealed this in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) Hausa. The Katsina state governor directed the Emir of Katsina and his Daura counterpart to conduct a special prayer session for the president.

All these calls proved that the president was still alive, and his arrival from the United Kingdom on Friday morning all but confirmed that he was always hale and hearty!
