An ASP and an inspector who sustained serious injuries were rushed to LASUTH, Ikeja, where one of them was later confirmed dead.

Famous-Cole reportedly said: “Sergeant Ibidapo died at LASUTH because he was not given oxygen on time. Doctors at the hospital said they were short of oxygen.”

Famous-Cole said the victims, Inspector Donatus Igwe; the driver of the patrol vehicle, Inspector Segun Ajibade; Woman-Sergeant Blessing Umoru; and Sergeant Idowu Ibidapo, were out to arrest suspected fake policemen operating in the area when the unfortunate auto crash occurred.

In a similar event, a patient died at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) because the hospital was unable to provide an oxygen mask for him.

A twitter user, @kpeetee who made this known on his page said the staff could not find the key to the storage room.
