The minister of power, works and housing Babatunde Fashola on Friday, received an ultimatum to fix the epileptic power supply in Nigeria.
A civil society group, Campaign for Democracy said the minister has 30-days to improve power supply in Nigeria, especially in the South-East region or resign.
The group in a statement by its national publicity secretary Dede Uzor said Fashola has failed woefully by being unable to increase the megawatt from 4,320 where he met it two years ago.

Uzor also called on the federal government to detach the ministry of works and housing from power and appoint a different minister to oversee them.

The group also called on Fashola to make pre-paid meters available to all Nigerians, especially those in the South East region within that 30-day ultimatum period.
CD said availability of pre-paid meters will assist in checkmating estimated and crazy bills on poverty-stricken Nigerians.
The group said it will also controvert the United Nations recent prediction that Yemen, Sudan, Nigeria, Syria and other countries would face acute food shortage in the near future
