Even though President Muhammadu Buhari has been severally declared as hale and hearty, many Nigerians have continued to hold different prayer sessions for his quick recovery.
Buhari travelled to London in January on a 10-day vacation adding that during this period, he would see his doctor for some medical examinations.
He however extended his stay in a letter to the National Assembly saying this was on the advice of his doctors.
Many chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have since visited him while some claim that they have spoken with him on phone.
Prayer sessions have been carried out in Kebbi, Kano and other such areas.
There are also speculations that the president was being shielded by a cabal, but this has not been substantiated.
Since he left the country, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who had acted on his behalf, has continued to get commendations from Nigeria because of his zeal to get the country back on track.
Osinbajo has spent time visiting states including Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Delta in an effort to end the Niger Delta crisis.
He also recently visited Kaduna state where, like his visit to Lagos, he carried out an inspection of the airport and engaged top officials and leaders in discussions that have to do with national development.
Some Nigerians who reacted to the prayer session in Zaria, noted that despite the country’s challenges, President Buhari is still loved by the citizens.
Some however called such prayers hypocrisy claiming that the president and his handlers have not told anyone he is truly sick.
Teejay Raji said: “I have never seen a president so loved like Muhammad Buhari, despite the hardship people understand that it is corruption that is fighting back and the HARD WAY IS THE ONLY WAY.”
