The All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided to step into the on-going row between the Senate and the comptroller-general of the Nigerian Customs Service, Hameed Ali.
Ali had been in a tussle with the Senate over instruction to appear in his uniform which he has refused to comply with.

The Custom’s boss had appeared before the Senate on Thursday, March 16 insisting his was not compelled by law to appear in uniform but he was asked to leave and asked to reappear on Wednesday, March 22.
APC to intervene in Hameed Ali, Senate face-off
Ali had announced on Tuesday, March 21 that he would not be appearing before the Senate on Wednesday as earlier planning saying since the case was now in court, it would be amounting to contempt to appear before the Senate.
Vanguard reports that the
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi who is the publicity secretary of the APC in a statement said the APC has resolved to intervene.
“We have watched the issues with growing concern and the expectations that they would be resolved in a manner that would be agreeable to all the parties involved.

“However, we wish to state that at this point, we have found it necessary to intervene.
“Accordingly, the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun will lead the party’s peace mission to the leadership of the National Assembly and the concerned party member.”
The APC expressed confidence that its intervention would solve the face-off and bring peace.
