Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has been on the job for the past one month as the Nigerian president remains in the UK on a medical leave.
President Muhammad Buhari had, on January 19, 2017, sent a letter to the National Assembly conveying his decision to proceed on leave and thus, transferring power to his Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, as required by Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian constitution.
According to the latest NOI poll, half of the Nigerians who participated in the survey believe that Osinbajo is doing a very good job as Acting President.
Prof Osinbajo got a 50 percentage point approval rating for the month of February 2017. It is important to note that the last time the presidential approval rating edged up to 50% was in February 2016, when it was 57%.
In January 2017, it was only 44%, which shows a positive perception of Osinbajo by Nigerians. From the poll it can be seen that mostly people from the South-West, where Osinbajo is from approve of his reign.

Meanwhile, the accolades continue to pour in for Osinbajo as Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, a lecturer and head of department of Mass Communication at the Delta state university, Abraka said he has exhibited some attribute that portrays him as a non-Nigerian.
The lecturer says:
“After watching the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in Benin City, Edo State, on TV live during his fact finding meeting with the good people of Edo state, I realized that he is totally not a Nigerian. He listened to all speakers with rapt attention and concentrated interest.”
