– The Fulani herdsmen have raised an alarm over the safety of their members in the state

A Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah, has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris to investigate and arrest those behind the killing of Fulani herdsmen living in Delta state.

In a press conference held in Abuja on Friday, September 8, the group’s national publicity secretary, Malam Yusuf Musa Ardo, called on the police to ensure the killing of the herdsmen by their host communities is curbed.

Ardo made the call while reacting to a petition sent to the association by members of Alhaji Mohammed Bassa family and other Fulani living in Delta state.

He called on the IGP to use his good office to intervene and find out those behind the killing.

According to him, the petitioners complained that after the hoodlums have killed their people, they would also vanish into the air with their dead bodies, making it impossible for them to pay their last respect to their remains as demanded by their culture and religion.

He also accused the police commissioner in the state, Mohammed Ibrahim Zana for not giving members of his association justice.

When asked by ZENITHBLOG.com if they have verified the

authenticity of the claims by their members in Delta state, Malam Ardo displayed pictures of the alleged victims.

“We are in constant touch with our people all over the nation, so the information given to us is true,” he said.

He sympathized with families of the deceased and prayed that they inherit Aljannatu Fidausi.

Meanwhile, the national coordinator of Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Alhaji Garus Gololo, has called on the Nigerian government to handle the issue of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kani with utmost care.

Gololo was reacting to the recent move by the federal government to rearrest the IPOB leader for breaching bail conditions.

“Kanu is a Nigerian who knows the implication of violating a court order. But I am advising the federal government to handle the matter with care in order not to aggravate the tensed situation in the country. I sincerely advise that he should be called and advised appropriately.

“Government should give him another chance to make amends and by sticking to the conditions upon which he was granted bail,’’ he said.
