Punch reports that state governors, on Wednesday, said they had resolved that they would not allow Nigeria to break up, stating that those fanning the embers of war were wasting their time.

The governors resolved to do everything within their powers to keep Nigeria together.

The governors spoke after their meeting with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in continuation of Osinbajo’s consultations on the recent tension in the country as a result of several agitations.

Governor Abiola, Ajimobi of Oyo state who spoke on behalf of the other governors, said the governors and other stakeholders had agreed that despite the agitations being witnessed in parts of the country, Nigeria must not break, The Nation reports.

Osinbajo task the governors to battle hate speech from residents of their states.

According to Vanguard, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, yesterday expressed disappointment at comments made by chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay, to the effect that he was not committed to the anti-corruption efforts of the

government.

Sagay accused the AGF of not being sincere in his fight against corruption after Saraki won his CCT case.

The National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rose from a meeting yesterday in Abuja declaring support for the restructuring of the country.

The PDP faction condemned the quit notice to Igbo by Arewa youths, just as it decried secession threats by a section of youths from the South- East. Addressing a press conference after the meeting, the chairman of the caretaker committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, who led other members to the briefing, condemned what he called unnecessary pressure allegedly being mounted on the Supreme Court to deliver judgement on the party’s leadership crisis, The Guardian reports.
