Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu has given reasons why he ordered the sit-at-home protest for the remembrance of those who died during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war in 1967.

Kanu said the sit-at-home unlike other street protests carried out by the group was aimed at monitoring the level of participation of the people in the protest.

He also said the process was an easier approach than the regular street march.
