Gombe state governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has told Igbos in the state to go about their businesses without any fear of molestation.
Dankwambo who gave the assurance via his official Facebook page assured the Igbos in his domain of their safety.
He stated that Gombe is home to all Nigerians, adding that no one is more Nigerian than the other.
The governor was reacting to an ultimatum by 16 northern youth associations, demanding that Igbos resident in the north leave before October 1.

Governor Dankwambo assured the Igbos that they have nothing to fear
The groups also urged northern residents in the south-east to return to the north within the period.
The governor wrote: “How can anyone ask Igbos to leave northern Nigeria? No one is more Nigerian than the other. Igbos in Gombe have nothing to fear.
“Gombe is home to all
“No one should have to live in fear because of his tribe, race, colour or religion.”
Meanwhile, a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode says there will be grave consequences if the northerners execute their threat of kicking the Igbos out of their states.
“Threatening the Igbo and kicking them out of the north won’t help.This time round the Middle Belt and the whole south will stand with them.
“We want peace by restructuring and not violence. Unleashing genocide against the Igbo or anyone else in north will have grave consequences,” Fani-Kayode said.
