A blind man Thompson Iroulo resident in Port Harcourt on Thursday, June 23, threatened to drag Dr. Peter Odili’s Pamo Clinic and Hospital Limited to court over alleged violation of his human rights, Vanguard reports.
Iroulo alleged that the management of the hospital has failed to pay adequate attention to his health condition.

He also accused the hospital of failure to clear the backlog of his outstanding arrears since 2014.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, Iroulo said his family has faced series of hardship since he lost his sight.
He also called on the former governor to intervene on the matter
According to Iroulo, he had an accident while in active service at the hospital.

He further explained that since the accident, the office has abandoned him and his health condition has also worsened.
Iroulo also appealed to the director general of the hospital – Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers state – to intervene on the matter.
Also, a human rights advocate Higher King who had petitioned the hospital on behalf of Iroulo condemned the violation of the physically challenged man.

King urged the hospital management to look into the matter and transport the victim to India for immediate medical treatment.
He also advised that N50 million be paid to Iroulo as damages while his outstanding benefits and salaries be paid be the hospital.
However, in the hospital’s defence, its managing director Oluchi Nzinwa said Iroulo’s allegations are false.
Nzinwa said the victim had developed the eye problem before been employed at the hospital.
