The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has bestowed Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state with the title of honorary governor of Biafra Republic.

According to the group, the honorary title given to Fayose is in recognition of his support to their leader Nnamdi Kanu and show of courage at the court sitting in Abuja, where the IPOB leader was granted bail.

IPOB disclosed this in a statement made available to The Punch in Awka, Anambra state capital.

Earlier, ZENITHBLOG.com reported that Governor Fayose stormed the Federal High Court Abuja to show support for pro-Biafra agitator Nnamdi Kanu.

According to him, it is unfortunate that many Nigerians are treated in the same way like Kanu.

His words: “This nation belongs to all of us, I have come to identify with the Igbo people. My position remains that Kanu will one day walk into freedom in this our great country.”

Nnamdi Kanu was freed after meeting his bail conditions which IPOB and family members said were too stringent.
