Mrs Olanike Disu, a popular female tax guru and a director at the Lagos Inland Revenue Service, who was widely called Madam Tax, has passed away under mysterious circumstances.
She reportedly died on Monday, September 4, barely 24 hours after celebrating her birthday on Sunday, September 3.
According to TVC, she died at a private hospital after complaining that she’s not feeling too well just after her birthday. She is survived by her two children.

The members of Council, Management and Secretariat of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Of Nigeria issued a statement concerning her death:
“We are sad to hear of the unfortunate demise of a member of the Executive Committee
“She was also an Assistant Director with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) until her death. We pray that God will comfort her family and the CITN family, and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Meanwhile, ZENITHBLOG.com recently reported that the government says it has commenced training of unemployed graduates recruited as Community Tax Liaison Officers to boost tax revenue generation.
Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun revealed this on Friday, June 23 and said 27 Nigerians were being trained as a pilot set for the programme. The selected persons, drawn from the N-Power programme, were undergoing training at the Federal Treasury Academy, Abuja.
