– According to Kanu’s lawyer about five of the IPOB leader’s family members were brutally wounded
Nigeria military personnel under the command of the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai laid a siege on the country home of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu in Umuahia.
According to Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the military had on Sunday, September 10, shot sporadically into the air through which about five of Kanu’s family members were brutally wounded and some unfortunately killed.

He said: “There is no doubt that the present deployment of troops to the South East is to haunt for my client and possibly eliminate him. Let the whole world know that if anything untoward happen to my client, that president Buhari and his Chief of Army Staff should be held responsible by the international Community.”

In an earlier report by ZENITHBLOG.com, the Igbo National Council (INC) gave the Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, a 21-day ultimatum to end the Operation Python Dance II in the south-east.
The group said the south-east region is not a war zone and asked the army chief to withdraw all the soldiers posted to the area within 21 days or be sued at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
