Nigeria’s former minister of aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari over one of his ministers decision to openly endorse another politician for the 2019 presidential election.

Minister of women affairs, Hajia Aisha Jummai Alhassan (Mama Taraba), was seen in a viral video declaring her support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to run for the presidency in 2019.

She disclosed that her decision was predicated on the fact that the former vice president is her political godfather.

Writing on his Facebook page on Wednesday, September 6, Fani-Kayode said God is speaking through them persons like Mama Taraba as a signal that the president should vacate office in 2019.

He wrote: “When President Buhari’s minister publicly says she will support someone else and not him in the 2019 election you know that things have fallen apart.

“First the rats said “go”. Now your own minister says “go”. God is speaking through them all. More signs and wonders to come!”

Others say Mama Taraba should be hailed for her staunch political loyalty to the former vice president

Some others are of the view that supporters of the ruling party – the All Progressives Congress criticizing the minister are being hypocritical

Meanwhile, media reports say most cabinet members in the Buhari’s administration were shocked by their colleague’s comment.

While some said it was typical of the minister, others said it showed her disloyalty.
