Origin and education
The name of Anambra State Deputy Governor is Dr. Nkem Okeke. He was born in Enugwu-Ukwu. His father was Mr. R.N Okeke. The Acting Deputy Governor had his secondary education at Dennis Memorial Grammar School Onitsha. After his secondary education, he traveled abroad for his tertiary education. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison where he studied Civil Engineering. Then he proceeded to Howard University, where he completed his Master’s in Business Administration and Ph.D. in Monetary Economics.

Career
He became the Deputy Governor on the 17th of March 2014 on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance. Before obtaining this position, Dr. Nkem Okeke served as the Commissioner for Economic Planning and also Commissioner for Works and Transport during the administration of Governor Peter Obi.
After serving twice as Commissioner of Anambra State, he decided to go back into academics. He went back into lecturing at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He was the head of the Department of Economics while lecturing at the University.
Dr. Nkem Okeke is happily married and blessed with five children.
