Eid al-Adha is the feast of sacrifice. It dates back to the trial of the prophet Ibrahim who had to make a sacrifice in honor of Allah. As narrated in the Quran, Jabrail, an angel, appeared to Ibrahim and transferred the command from Allah to sacrifice his son (the first word of Allah). Being devout, Ibrahim obeyed the command of the God and began to prepare for the sacrifice of his son Ismaeel. Learning about his fate son also did not resist, because he was obedient to both his father and God. However, at the last moment, when the sacrificial dagger was ready to perform its task, Allah did so that Ibrahim’s son of was not stabbed (the Second word of Allah). Later, instead of him, a sheep died. Ibrahim was blessed because his faith was tested.
