The threats, the source said also converged the monitoring team of the inspector general of police on the matter through the village council.
“This threat was communicated to security agents via petitions calls and text messages without any intervention whatsoever. even after the murder of the yet to be buried victim nothing has been done to investigate the crime by the IG monitoring team who is handling the inconclusive investigation.
It is important to date that the community petitioned the IG over the connivance and negligence by his team to conclude investigation of this age long atrocities by the gang.
Although the the IG directed the team to conclude investigation as petitioned the team however ignored and sent the suspect back to Akwa Ibom for a weak prosecution.
The suspect has since been having regular meetings with his men even in custody which has resulted in renewed killings by the gang in recent weeks. This situation had been reported severally to the team without any feedback whatsoever,” the source added.
