Party BEGS ex-Vice President Atiku to run in 2019 elections

– Party chieftains and some former top civil servants have informed the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar about what they felt he should about next Presidential election

– The top leaders lauded Atiku for the development of democratic culture and stable polity he has made possible in the country

– They said general interest of the international community in the development of Nigeria is job creation

Some top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) has urged the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to contest the Presidential election 2019.

The PDM chieftains, on Thursday, June 21, made this known in a statement issued in Abakaliki, the PDM chieftain, Chief Ajah Agha Arua noted that the Atiku is able to restructure Nigeria.

“We are urging him to contest out of our good intention for this country and its citizens. We need someone who can suppress ethnic and religious bigotry in order to hold the nation together.

”We need somebody who knows the needs of the people and who will be dynamic enough to provide those needs. Atiku Abubakar is the best man for the job in 2019,” the chieftains said.

They also described the former vice president as a serious minded, dutiful and clear headed individual.

Abubakar is gender sensitive. He has absolute respect for the constitution and the rule of law. He has also shown potentials, especially political charisma and clout .

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar deserves the biggest thanks for being a team player and for ensuring speedy development of the country.

”They urged him to consider seriously the voices of those pleading with him to contest in 2019.

“If Nigeria is going anywhere in this democratic dispensation, it is people like Atiku who would spearhead the attainment of that feat. He has sold himself as a competent , experienced and resourceful man.”

Meanwhile, ZENITHBLOG.com earlier reported that All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Enugu have shunned a meeting organised by the leaders of the Integrity group camp of the party.

The group mobilised support for the presidential bid of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. The group is led by the party’s Deputy Chairman, Adolphus Ude.
