Impressive! Nigerian Customs intercept 1,200 bags of smuggled rice, SEE what they found (photos)

– Along Ilella road in Sokoto state, officers of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) intercepted a huge quantity of rice

– The 25kg bags of rice were being smuggled in a truck before they were caught

– 1,200 25kg bags of smuggled rice with a duty paid value of N14,380,800.00 were intercepted

The Nigeria Customs Service serving Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara area intercepted bags of rice worth more than N14 million along Ilella Road in Mamman Suka, Sokoto state.

The officers of the command, under the leadership of Comptroller Nasir Ahmed intercepted a truck laden with 1,200 25kg bags of smuggled rice with a duty paid value of N14,380,800.00.

Comptroller Ahmed stressed the need for compliance with government fiscal policies on trade as it is targeted at improving the economy of the country. Below are pictures from the seizure:

While addressing journalists on the seizure, the Comptroller expressed the Command’s readiness to curb the ugly menace of smuggling.
