Ex-President Jonathan’s godson finally speaks out after EFCC took over his property

– Turner has now written to the Niger Delta Development Commission seeking for more clarifications concerning allegations made by the EFCC

Days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission took over his property, the embattled George Turnah, has written the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) seeking for clarifications on some issues.

Turner said he needed clarifications over the allegation by the EFCC that he got multiple contracts from the NDDC.

Currently, Turnah is reportedly facing trial at Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on a 12-count charge of obtaining money by false presence, money laundering and abuse of office.

ZENITHBLOG.com reports that he was earlier arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers state in March 2017 in connection with alleged possession of N2 billion allegedly siphoned from the NDDC while he served in the commission between 2012 and 2015.

The Nigerian Tribune reports that through his lawyer, Amuda-Kannike (SAN), Turner has wrote to the managing director of the NDDC to seek for clarifications on the claims he got the contracts.

The report said in a letter dated May 30, 2017 and signed by one ID Wariboko, Turnah sought to know if he was awarded contracts to build the Ogbia Brotherhood village and electrification of Ogbia communities including Kolo town.

Turner wants the NDDC in line with the Freedom of Information Act furnish, with names of companies the projects were awarded, total scope and amount of the said contracts as well as how much has been released so far to the said contractors.

The report added that the lawyer also wrote to Mr Ishaq Salihu, the zonal head of EFCC in the South-South to demand for apology, retraction and payment of N100 million as compensation over the defamatory publications against the person and reputation of Turnah.
