Following the recent bird flu outbreak, the federal government has, alerted Nigerians on the states were the virus is presently.
The director of veterinary and pest control services at the ministry of agriculture and rural development Gideon Mshelbwala said the disease is currently in seven states across Nigeria.
Mshelbwala at a meeting with state commissioners of agriculture in Abuja on Friday, June 2, said to contain the spread of the disease across more state, there must be a ban on the importation of poultry and products.

He added that quarantining and putting in place bio-security measures among many others will help reduce the spread of the disease.
Mshelbwala also warned all poultry farmers in Nigeria against every form of illegal vaccination of birds.
He said the control of the disease is a deadly alternative.
