Aso Rock cabal allegedly begins ‘Plan B’ against Osinbajo, moves to London for consolidation

– President Muhammadu Buhari may have had the premonition and this was why he reportedly met with the leadershship of the National Assembly before travelling

– The report said the cabal met in London to fashion out ways to whittle the constitutional powers of the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo

After allegedly failing an attempt to hijack Acting President Yemi Osinbajo’s constitutional authority, the cabal in Aso Rock, the seat of power in Nigeria, has commenced a second option, Sahara Reporters is stating.

The plan allegedly led by the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, is allegedly aimed at weakening the constitutional authority of Osinbajo, who had led the country since President Muhammadu Buhari travelled to London on medical vacation.

Sahara Reporters quoted sources as saying the grand plan took off at the presidential palace in Abuja, with a meeting held in London last week.

According to the report, the meeting had included a handful of disgruntled presidential aides. However, they reportedly met without the knowledge of the ailing President Buhari.

ZENITHBLOG.com understands from the report that the officials are not happy with Buhari’s transfer of power to Osinbajo and instead preferred one of them to have been handed the power to act.

At the meeting, it was allegedly resolved to adopt fresh tactics to constrain Osinbajo by seeking to foist spurious and patently false allegations on him.

The report said Kyari, who is also sick and frequenting hospitals in the UK for a treatment was in the meeting with the minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, as well as Buhari’s secretary, Tunde Sabiu.

What the cabal is scared of, according to the report, is that Osinbajo’s soaring popularity and Buhari’s support for his actions would whittle their own influence.

They are also allegedly scared that they may be forced “to account for some of their shady deals that have been covered up so far, especially in view of the uncertainty of Buhari’s health.”

The report said the president is not even happy with the claim that some of his aides have made attempts to undermine Osinbajo’s authority.

The report said one of the allegations was that Osinbajo was consolidating ahead of 2019

The report claimed that at a time, Kyari allegedly visited President Buhari with a list of career ambassadors, asking him to let the cabal decide where to place each of them.

Kyari was also alleged to have made frantic efforts to ensure that all communications from Buhari and even Osinbajo came through him.

Apart from this, he reportedly suggested, though not to the acting president, that Osinbajo should always seek through him any decision concerning the economy, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and the military.

“One of the main decisions of the meeting in London was to cast ethnic and religious aspersions on the acting president’s appointments, and the person chosen to implement this was Mr Sirika, who is said to be uncomfortable with Osinbajo’s free-willing romance with the northern elite, and his seeming acceptance by the ordinary people in the north.

“Mr Sirika was given the task of accusing Osinbajo of appointing only Christians to his office, a charge presidential aides disputed widely over the weekend.

“They pointed out that a huge majority of the acting president’s security aides and other officials are northerners and Muslims inherited from the former vice-president, Namadi Sambo, who himself was surprised recently when he visited the acting president to see most of them still around,” the report said while quoting a source as saying: “Even when you look at the stewards who serve the VP, they are all Northerners and Muslims.”

It added that the latest plot led by Mr Sirika via social media “shot its first round of attack on the acting president with a phony author reeling off accusations on the law professor” including that he was consolidating for 2019.

President Muhammadu Buhari had met with the leadership of the National Assembly and Osinbajo before traveling to London.

At the meeting, he reportedly informed that he would officially write to the lawmakers to constitutionally transfer power to Osinbajo.

There are insinuations that the president may have had a premonition of the power tussle that would happen in his absence.

Kyari and the others mentioned could not be reached at the time of this report.

ZENITHBLOG.com had earlier reported that the presidency official revealed why acting president, Yemi Osinbajo, cancelled a meeting for the signing of the 2017 budget scheduled for Thursday, June 1.
