APC should keep its promise and immotalise MKO Abiola now – Ojikutu
Alhaja Ojikutu said that it would be shameful if the All Progressive Congress of the campaign for (APC) which had been in the forefront of the campaign for the immortalization of Abiola to fail to honour him two years after it assumed federal power.
She said: “The APC which had been in the forefront of the campaign to immortalize Abiola are now in power, the onus lies on them to do the needful.”
Ojikutu stated as a prelude to naming a monument after Abiola like

“The Nigerian government had honoured her late Head of State, Gen. Murtala Muhammed with the Ikeja International airport after Col. B S Dimka and his group murdered him on February 13, 1976. So, June 12 should be named after Abiola for paying the supreme sacrifice by laying down his life for democracy to thrive in Nigeria.
Her words, “I think the FG should do the needful and immortalise Abiola without any further delay. When the leaders of the APC were in opposition, they were clamouring for immotalisation but now that they are in power, why is it taking them some years to do the needful.”
