When Senator Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West in the Senate launched his new book, ‘Antidotes for Corruption’ on May 15, 2017 at the Umaru Ya’Adua Centre, Abuja, Nigerians did not expect the attendance of a top dignitary in the person of Dame Patience Jonathan who was the former first lady of the country.

Her presence at the event raised many eyebrows, given the fact that both are from opposing political parties.

During the event, ZENITHBLOG.com learnt that barely 30 minutes into the program, Patience Jonathan made a glamorous entrance into the arena. This was said to have led to a loud and resounding ovation.

However weeks after the launch,

Sahara Reporters is reporting the the former first lady allegedly paid a sum of $50,000 to be part of the book launch.

ZENITHBLOG.com had reported that the book, titled ‘Antidotes for Corruption’ is divided into 14 chapters with 600 pages.

The book over the following weeks came under heavy criticism, as observers posited that the book was just a compilation of Newspaper articles and stories on corruption.

However, despite the deficiencies inherent in the book, the leadership of Nigeria National Assembly, Saraki and Dogara bought a copy for each of the 109 members of the Senate and 360 members of the House of Representatives, respectively, at the rate of N50, 000 a copy which amounted to a whopping sum of N23,450,000.
