Violent Protests: Eyitayo Jegede’s Supporters Go Berserk in Ondo State (Photos)

Supporters of the factional People’s Democratic Party candidate, Eyitayo Jegede have stepped up the ferocity of their protests.
The replacement of Eyitayo Jegede’s name with that of Jimoh Ibrahim by the Independent and National Electoral Commission yesterday ahead of November 26 election has resulted into violent protests on major roads in Akure – Ondo State capital.
An eye witness claims the sounds of sporadic gun shots rented the air at some point. It’s not clear if the gun shots emanated from security operatives who seem absent in consideration of the pictures.

“I thought Eyitayo Jegede is a SAN, how would you expect an Akure High Court to upturn/restrain the subsisting judgment of a court of coordinate jurisdiction like that of the Federal High Court? What happened to the Appeal Court?,” the disappointed Ondo indigene asked.
With the exit of a major contender like Jegede, Ondo indigenes have started queing behind Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN of the All Progressives Congress who has promised an incremental turn-around in Ondo.
