Doubt is the opposite of faith. Whoever does not have faith is saturated with doubt, which gives birth to fears. Great men who have made wealth and history are men who have belief. I will go ahead and state, also teach on the seven ways to deal with your doubts.

These include:

1- Occupy your mind with God’s words

In this world, there is nothing more powerful than the word of God. God have promised us the best things of life and the only way you can connect to the fulfillment of God’s words is by believing strongly on His words, for His words are spirit and they are alive. They can never fail. Study his words and meditate on them daily.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29 vs 11.

2- Don’t allow yourself to be distracted

I tell people that distraction is their greatest enemy. Don’t be at the stadium watching football when you should be working for yourself. The footballers don’t party when it’s training time.

The only way to enhance your capability is to invest your time in yourself. A distracted man is a focus-less man. The more focus you are, the more you increase your belief.

Meghan Daum said in one of his words that: “We use our gadgets for distraction and entertainment. We use them to avoid work while giving the impression that we’re actually working hard.”

3- Surround yourself with positive minds

The friend you keep and spend enormous time with determines your position in life. If you are the type that spends time with friends that don’t believe in themselves, then you will certainly be influenced by them.

Be careful with whoever you relate yourself with. Make sure you make friends with people whose believe is higher than yours and also spend quality time with them.

Wade Boggs also says: “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.”

4- Think more about your past successes

You may have failed before, but failing doesn’t make you a failure except you admit it. Let your pass victories be your striving strength. Doubt is increased when you dwell in your failures. There is no great man who has not failed, but they proceeded and became great because they didn’t build on their failures.

Before you step into your daily task, flow in the thoughts of your successes in life. It will surely make you feel better and stronger to do more.

Denis Waitley said that: “To establish true self-esteem we must concentrate on our successes and forget about the failures and the negatives in our lives.”

5- Read motivational and inspirational books

No man knows it all and no man is not to be motivated. You need to read and learn from others experiences, in other to push up your drive in life and to believe you can do it too. Whatever you are trying to do have been done by someone else at a particular time, for there is nothing new under the sun. Equip yourself with good books and the bible as well.

According to Ralph Waldo Emerson, if we encounter a man of rare intellect, we should ask him what books he reads.

6- Speak to your future daily

You are the best motivation you will ever get. No one is best to do the job for you, except you. Whenever you wake up in the morning, stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself how great you will become and how good you are currently. Say wonderful and inspiring things to yourself that will make you feel better and zealous.

Christine Bovee says: “Doubt whom you will, but never yourself.”

7- Don’t fail to pray

Prayer is the key. Pray to God and believe in His Son Jesus who makes all things possible. Whoever that fails to pray will fail to rise. This is the best advice I can give to you as my friend.

Through prayers, all things are made easy to them that table all their plans and challenges to Him. God in heaven wants to help us, but He wants to hear what we want through our prayers to him. God will only act by your prayers to Him.

Osinbajo made this statement on Tuesday, February 28, while inaugurating the Private Sector Advisory Group for Sustainable Development Goals at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Punch reports that he said some nations were doing better than nations who attach importance to wealth because such nations that do better decided that the value of human beings was in their contribution to the society.

Osinbajo advises Nigerian elites on corruption

Osinbajo said: “We have decided as an elite in this country that wealth is a measure of worth. It is a decision we made consciously or unconsciously.

“The political elite have decided that wealth is a measure of worth and that is why you find so much corruption among the political elite. Even the religious elite believe that it is a blessing of God.

“There are some societies that have decided that the value of human beings is in their contribution to the society. Those societies, of course, have done better than those who have decided that wealth, no matter how it was obtained, is a measure of worth.

“I think it is important if our elite decide that dealing with poverty is worth the while and that it will measure whether or not we are serious about our society.”

Osinbajo called on the rich and powerful of Nigerian to focus on helping the poor and less privileged people because in the end the lives they touch is what will matter.

He said: “At the end of our lives, the question that will be asked is what is the impact that we made on people’s lives. Nobody will be measured by how much money we made or the positions we held.

“A lot of our people in this country hang their hopes on us. They look up to us and believe we can do it and despite all the failures and the false starts, our people especially the poor and the vulnerable still believe that these elite will and can deliver.

“Let us therefore take this as a personal responsibility to our people to do something profound that will make a huge difference in the lives of our people.

“This is why I am so excited about this coming together of the public and private sector to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals are realised in our time and that nobody is left behind.”

Meanwhile, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has reacted to accusation that President Muhammadu Buhari plans to Islamise Nigeria saying it was totally untrue.

In a video shared by the vice president, he said there has been accusation especially from the opposition party during the campaign period that Buhari was out to Islamise the country.

PDP turns to women for survival as Sheriff says 30 per cent of elective position in the party will be reserved for them

The National Chairman the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, has promised that 30 per cent elective position in the party would be reserved for women.

Sheriff made the promise on Tuesday in Abuja while addressing a delegation from Imo State chapter of the party, led by Sen. Hope Uzodima.

He noted that reserving 30 per cent elective position to women was important because of the significant role they play and their contributions to the party.

He reiterated his commitment to conduct credible national convention for the party as soon as possible.

Sheriff, who resumed duty at Wadata Plaza on Tuesday, also promised that he would not impose any candidate on any elective office or position, at any level.

He said that the people at the grassroots would determine the candidates that would be elected into an office, saying that only the grassroots would help the PDP reclaim power in 2019.

‎Sheriff, who expressed optimism that PDP would win Imo gubernatorial election, said that whoever would emerge as the party’s standard bearer must come through the people and not from the back-door.

“I cannot go to the state and impose candidates against the will of the people.‎

“If Imo people decide that this person should be their governor, so be it,” he added.

‎Speaking earlier, Sen. Uzodima declared that Imo chapter of the party support Sheriff.

‎“The 305 electoral wards in Imo are fully represented here.

“We will do everything to ensure that PDP grows from strength to strength.

“We cannot compromise what is meant for us,” Uzodima said.

The state chairman of the PDP, Mr Nnamdi Anyaehie, expressed confidence that the crisis rocking the party at the national level would soon be resolved to the satisfaction of all aggrieved members.

He said that after the Appeal Court judgment in Port-Harcourt, stakeholders of the party in Imo decided to visit and reassure Sheriff of their continued support for his leadership.

Prof. Walter Ofonagoro, a chieftain of the party in Imo and former Minister of Information and Culture, said that PDP members in Imo respect rule of law.

“That is they we came to show their support for the national chairman,’’ he said.

Ofonagoro, who stated that several members of the party had defected to other political parties because of crisis rocking the party, urged Sheriff to reunite aggrieved members.

The power tussle between the the Nigeria Police Force and the newly inaugurated Peace Corps has taken a new dimension following the raiding and arresting of the national commandant of the corps, Ambassador Dickson Akoh.

Akoh was reportedly arrested close to midnight on Tuesday, February 28 after the police raided the national headquarters of the corps in Abuja.

The corps, a youth-based organisation, came into force after it was given a nod by the National Assembly through a bill that was passed, but the police had allegedly kicked against the granting it a go-ahead to operate.

Daily Post reports that a training facility belonging to the Peace Corps in Kwara and Abuja had earlier been raided and shut by the police.

Earlier on Tuesday when the corps was being formally inaugurated in the presence of the minister of Sports and Youths Development, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, religious bodies and youth organisations, the police joined other security agencies to provide a peaceful atmosphere for the success of the event.

Hours later, the raid was reportedly carried out.

“We don’t know where they have taken him to,” the report quoted a source within the corps as saying adding that Akoh was taken to the FCT command of the Nigeria Police.

The reason for his arrest has not been given. The police is also yet to issue an official position concerning the incident at the time of this report.

The Guardian reports that two indigenes were reportedly murdered in Omumu community in Ika South Local Council in Delta on Monday, February 27 evening

According to reports from the area, the victims allegedly engaged the suspected cattle breeders in their farmlands after crops worth thousands of naira were destroyed.

An ex-party chairman in the community Joel Obuchi said the situation is a bad omen and urged the state government to look into the problem.

Obuchi said the cattle rearers had wreaked havoc on the community and turned many farms into grazing land. He warned that if urgent steps were not taken by security agents, the activities of the nomads might result in clashes of higher scale between the cattle rearers and their host communities.

The Guardian quoted Delta state Police Commissioner Zanna Ibrahim as saying that his men were on top of the situation and have arrested some people in connection to the crime.

In Rivers state, one person was left dead after a clash between the residents and the cattle rearers in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Council.

Days after recovering 17 exotic cars from ex-customs boss, EFCC makes another huge discovery

Just about six days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovered 17 exotic cars from a warehouse reportedly owned by Abdullahi Dikko Inde, former comptroller-general of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), another set of vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles, have been reportedly seized from him.

The Nation reports that the second recovery was made between Monday, February 27 and Tuesday, February 28 in another warehouse allegedly belonging to the former customs boss.

The fresh items include a 2013 model 32-seater Nissan bus, 42 cargo tricycles, one tipper truck, 16 motorcycles, over 500 rug carpets and two fire-proof safes.

The report quoted the zonal head of EFCC in Kaduna, Bappa Ibrahim, as saying that the EFCC swung into action following a tip-off.

He confirmed that the EFCC was investigating the former customs boss and that the second set of items were recovered from a warehouse, off Nnamdi Azikwe expressway, around NASFAT village in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.

Contained in the two safes were documents, an iron stamp, 50 and 20 naira notes, amounting to N1,560 and polythene bags.

The EFCC zonal head did not give details of the contents of the documents found in the safe since investigation was still ongoing.

“The fresh operation, which started on Monday, 27th February, 2017 till today is a continuation of last week operation, which led to recovery of 17 exotic vehicles,” he said while urging the public to continue to assist with information that would make the EFCC successful.

Naira regains strength again, appreciates to N425 to a dollar in parallel market

The naira continued to regain strength and appreciate in value in the parallel market on Tuesday as it was sold for N425 to a dollar.

However, it was N450 to a dollar at the close of transactions on Monday.

In a survey carried out on Tuesday at the Bureau De Change (BDC) market in Abuja revealed that BDC operators bought at the rate of N415 and sold at N425.

The BDC operators bought the Pound Sterling at N500 and sold at N510, while the Euro was bought for N420 and sold for N425.

For the inter-bank rate, the dollar exchanged for N331.6, Euro 335.75, while the pound exchanged for N394.25

Some of the BDC operators told NAN that the provision of forex by the CBN to the commercial banks was responsible for the appreciation of the naira in the market.

Mr Sani Ahmed, one of the operators said that the best way to crash the high rate in the market was the continuous injection of liquidity into the market.

According to him, the appreciation of the naira is a good development for the BDC operators and other investors who require forex for their businesses.

“Now that the naira is appreciating, we make more profit because if you buy at the lower rate, you sell and make gain.

“When the cost of dollar is high, we make little profit; but when it is low, we make more profit because we buy more to sell.”

He, however, said that there was the challenge of accessing the forex from the commercial banks because of the stringent measures stipulated by the deposit money banks to obtain the forex.

“If someone applies for forex from the banks, it takes time and the process is frustrating; sometimes, they make additional demands before they issue forex to you,” Ahmed said.

Experts have, however, expressed concern about the sustainability of the measures by the apex bank.

An economic expert, Prof. Uche Uwaleke, admitted that a complete currency float was capable of unifying rates and reducing round tripping and speculative activities in the market.

He, however, said that such a measure could be suicidal for an import-dependent economy that derived much of its forex inflow from a single commodity.

He, therefore, recommended coordinated fiscal policies designed to encourage import substitution and enhance competitiveness of local production to help reverse the downward trend in the value of naira.

“Government should fast track efforts to improve the ease of doing business and the state of infrastructure in order to attract foreign investments to develop multiple streams of earning foreign exchange.

“It is only when the supply of forex is guaranteed from diversified sources that the issue of market-determined value of the naira can be tabled for consideration,” Uwalake said.

How the aircraft going to Yola malfunctioned – Medview

On Tuesday, February 28, an aircraft belonging to the Medview airline, which was traveling from Lagos to Yola malfunctioned and the flight was aborted after the pilot observed a fault in the aircraft’s cooling system.

What actually happened? Obuke Oyibhota a media consultant to Medview Airline, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He explained that the aircraft was still taxiing at the runway of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, when the fault was observed.

Oyibhota said: “The incident happened around midday. The aircraft did not make an air return. The plane was taxiing when the Captain in charge noticed that the cabin was hot.

“If he had taken off, it could have stabilised the cooling system but as a precautionary measure, he taxied back to base.

“That was what happened and nobody was hurt. The said aircraft is on ground and our team of engineers are examining the aircraft to ascertain what led to it.”

Subsequently, the 100 passengers disembarked and were transferred to another aircraft to continue their journey to Yola en route Abuja.

The media man also added that the pilot’s action was in accordance with the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

According to Premium Times, Oladejo Olowu one of the affected passengers, they had been lodged in a hotel in Lagos.

He revealed also that passengers travelling to Abuja were scheduled to join another flight by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, while a new flight was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for those travelling to Yola.

Mr Olowu, also said passengers had suspected that the plane, with flight number VL 2102, was faulty before takeoff.

However, they were assured by the pilot and the crew that all was well, the passenger said, adding that the plane had to return.

Meanwhile, about 105 passengers reportedly escaped death as a Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to Air Peace suddenly suffered a burst tyre while preparing for take-off at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
